Thoroughly read and understand these installation instructions before beginning the installation. If there is any doubt regarding the procedure, please contact CHE Performance prior to attempting installation

NOTE: Photos show installation on a V8 manual transmission vehicle utilizing the PowerHouse Automotive, LLC one piece aluminum driveshaft. Installation is typical of all engine and transmission combinations.

Step 1. Raise and Support the Vehicle

Raise the vehicle up as high as safely possible, and ensure that it is properly supported. It will simplify installation if both the front and rear of the vehicle is raised.

Step 2. Remove Heat Shield

Remove the rear exhaust heat shields (located on either side of the transmission tunnel next to the transmission yoke) from the vehicle by removing the 2 nuts retaining each heat shield. Save the heat shields and nuts for re-use later.

Step 3. Install Safety Loop Crossbrace

Install the Safety Loop Crossbrace on the vehicle. The large holes in the crossbrace should fit over the raised area surrounding the rearward heat shield stud. Additionally, the 8 mounting holes should align with the line of spotwelds that attach the seat mounting tunnel to the floorpan.

Tip: To ease installation, place large washers over the heat shield studs and install the heat shield nuts to hold the crossbrace in place during drilling.

Step 4. Drill Mounting Holes

Using a 5/16 drill bit, drill 8 holes for the Crossbrace mounting bolts.

Important: Use caution to insure that the drill bit does not go through the interior carpeting.
