Power Wagon Core Hub Return Procedure

Please follow these guidelines and procedures in order to receive your full $75 per hub core charge refund upon sending your hubs to CHE Performance.
Please note that damage to your returned hubs will reduce your core refund up to and including the entire amount depending upon the severity of the damage.
You will receive your core refund via the method of payment used for the original order.

  • Hubs should be degreased and in reasonable condition.  Wheel seals and bearings should be removed from the hubs.  We do offer the service of installing new bearing races into the conversion hubs for a fee, but we do not currently offer the wheel bearings themselves.  Please wipe out any excessive grease from the hubs prior to return.  Hubs with damagingly excessive rust or dents and/or gashes will result in a loss of core return fees.
  • Remove axle flange drive studs.  Disc brake conversion hubs do not include drive studs, so you will need to remove yours for re-use in the new conversion hubs.  Sometimes these studs come out of the hubs when removing the nuts.  In order to safely remove them, they will need to be double-nutted and carefully removed from the hubs.
  • Retain wheel seal snap ring.  You will need to reinstall the wheel seal snap ring in the new conversion hubs.
  • Do not attempt to repair broken axle flange drive studs.  We have received many hubs where the drive studs have been broken flush with the end of the hub.  We have tools and techniques which will successfully remove these broken studs, and the fee for removing broken studs is $5.00 per stud.  If we receive a hub where an unsuccessful attempt has been made to remove a broken stud or if the hub threads have been damaged, a fee of $20-$75 will be charged depending on the severity of the damage.
  • Wheel bearing races do not need to be removed.  Our conversion hubs do not come with bearing races unless you add them to your order, but please be advised that you do not have to remove the races from your core hubs if you are using new ones in your conversion hubs.  We have special tools and techniques to safely remove the bearing races from the hubs.  If you desire to retain your bearing races for re-use in the conversion hubs, please do so with caution.  Damage to the hubs from removing the races will reduce your core return depending on the severity of the damage.
  • Wheel lugs do not need to be removed.  You can leave your wheel studs in your returned hubs for an additional credit of $2 per lug.  If you choose to remove your lugs from your hubs, please do so properly so that damage to the wheel mounting surface is prevented.  Hubs received with damage or deformation to the wheel mounting surface resulting from improper removal of wheel lugs will result in a total loss of core return fees.
  • Wheel mounting surface must be straight. Hubs returned with warped or damaged wheel mounting surfaces will result in a total loss of core return fees.  We will not use core hubs with damaged wheel mounting surfaces, regardless of how the damage was acquired.
  • Leave broken drum screws in hubs.  We will. remove broken brake drum retaining screws at no charge provided that the wheel mounting surface has not been damaged as a result of an attempt to remove these screws from the hub.
  • Properly package hubs for return.  Your core return hubs should be properly packaged to ensure they are not damaged in transit.  If the shipping carrier determines that the hubs were not properly packaged, any insurance claims will not be honored.  We have no control or responsibility of return hubs which are lost or damaged in transit.
  • Request core hub return label.  Please contact us via email if you would like to request a shipping label via email to use for returning your core hubs to us.  You will be charged the actual shipping fees, which will not be refunded with your core charge refund.  Our shipping fees will often be significantly cheaper than what you would pay at a retail location such as a UPS Store or USPS Priority Mail.  You would need to package your return hubs in an appropriate box, such as the one you received your conversion kit in, affix the label to it, and drop it off at the appropriate location or hand it to a driver.
  • Ship with tracking and insurance.  If you choose to acquire a shipping service for the return of your hubs on your own, please ensure that the service will provide tracking service and proper levels of insurance in the event your shipment is lost, damaged, or delivered to the incorrect address.
  • Include a copy of your invoice.  Please include a copy of your invoice or Order Confirmation in the return package so that we can properly credit your account upon receipt of your hubs.  A hand written note with your name, address, phone number, and email address is also acceptable,
  • Return Address.  Your hubs should be sent to the following address:
