Poly/ Delrin Bushings

The Best Of Both Worlds

Our Poly/Delrin bushing system was engineered to deliver the performance of a low-friction solid bearing without the harshness, noise, and potential damage associated with traditional solid bushings.

By combining a precision-machined Delrin bearing with a properly engineered polyurethane bushing, we get smooth articulation, controlled movement, and the durability needed for serious performance.

Why Not Just Use Solid Bushing?

Solid bushings can provide excellent control, but they can also transfer unwanted forces directly into the chassis and create harshness or potential damage.

Traditional polyurethane bushings provide compliance, but can introduce friction and binding as suspension components move through their range of motion.

We wanted both.

So we designed a system that lets each material do what it does best.

Engineered To Move. Built To Last.

Our Poly/Delrin system was engineered and manufactured in-house to give each material a specific job:

DELRIN handles the rotation.

POLYURETHANE handles the compliance.

THE CRUSH SLEEVE provides the fixed mounting point.

By designing and manufacturing the system ourselves, we control the materials, dimensions, tolerances, and overall construction from start to finish. The result is a bushing that allows the suspension to move naturally without sacrificing stability or introducing unnecessary friction.

Designed around the application. Manufactured to our specifications. Built in-house.

1 Steel Crush Sleeve

The Fixed Foundation

The steel crush sleeve maintains a fixed mounting point between the control arm and vehicle while providing a smooth bearing surface for the Delrin.

It keeps the assembly properly located while allowing the bearing to rotate around it.

2 Delrin Bearing

Low Friction. High Precision

Delrin is an Acetal-based engineering plastic known for its low-friction and wear-resistant properties.

Our Delrin bearing is machined to a precise tolerance around the crush sleeve, allowing the bearing to rotate smoothly while maintaining the stability the suspension needs.

Less friction. Less binding. Smooth movement.

3 Polyurethane Bushing

Controlled Compliance

The polyurethane portion of the assembly absorbs shock and allows the suspension to move through its range of motion without the harshness of a completely solid bushing.

Because the polyurethane remains fixed rather than rotating, the design eliminates the typical squeaking associated with rotating polyurethane bushings.

We also carefully select the hardness of the polyurethane to balance performance, movement, and durability.

Three Components

Why Poly/ Delrin?

Not Too Soft. Not Too Solid.

Solid Delrin

  • Extremely rigid
  • Very low compliance
  • Can transfer more shock and force into the chassis
  • Potential for increased stress on mounting points

CHE Poly/ Delrin

  • Low-friction movement
  • Controlled compliance
  • Virtually eliminates the need for regular greasing
  • Quiet operation
  • Reduced binding
  • Designed specifically for performance applications

Traditional Polyurethane

  • Can rotate against the mounting surfaces
  • Requires regular lubrication
  • Can squeak
  • Can introduce friction and binding

Built For The Way Suspension Should Work.

We didn't want to choose between the compliance of polyurethane and the low-friction movement of a solid bearing. So we built a system that takes advantage of both.

Every CHE Poly/Delrin bushing is designed around the application, manufactured with purpose, and built to perform. It's another example of how we approach our products: when the right solution doesn't exist, we build it.

PERFORMANCE IS IN THE DETAILS.
